Slavia Prague opened their Champions League campaign in front of a lively home crowd, looking to take control of Group F against debutants Bodø/Glimt. The Czech side made their intentions clear early on, pressing high and dominating possession. Their pressure paid off in the 23rd minute when Youssoupha Mbodji rose highest to meet a Lukas Provod cross, heading home to give Slavia a deserved 1–0 lead and set the tone for what looked like a comfortable evening.
Bodø/Glimt, however, had their moments and nearly equalized just after halftime when they were awarded a penalty. The chance went begging as the spot-kick was fired wide, a huge let-off for Slavia and a moment that could have swung the match in the Norwegians’ favor. Slavia capitalized on their good fortune, doubling their advantage in the 74th minute when Mbodji struck again, this time with a crisp volley that left the goalkeeper helpless and put the hosts 2–0 ahead.
At that point, it seemed the game was all but over, but Bodø/Glimt had other ideas. Substitute Daniel Bassi made an instant impact, pulling a goal back in the 78th minute with a calm finish that reignited hope for the visitors. The match suddenly came to life, with the Norwegian side throwing men forward in search of an equalizer, testing Slavia’s back line repeatedly in the closing stages.
The dramatic ending arrived in stoppage time when Sondre Brunstad Fet smashed in a thunderous strike from the edge of the box, the ball crashing off the underside of the crossbar and over the line to make it 2–2. The away bench erupted in celebration, as Bodø/Glimt had secured their first-ever point in the Champions League group stage in the most dramatic fashion possible.
For Slavia Prague, the final whistle was met with frustration—they had let slip a two-goal cushion and missed the chance to open their campaign with three points. Bodø/Glimt, meanwhile, walked away proud of their resilience and fighting spirit, knowing they had just made a piece of club history. This result leaves Group F wide open and adds extra intrigue to the return leg in Norway.
