Malmö vs Ludogorets

Malmö FF hosted Ludogorets Razgrad at Eleda Stadion in the opening round of the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League group stage, hoping to start their European campaign with a win. Malmö’s persistence paid off in the 78th minute when Lasse Berg Johnsen scored from inside the box, reducing the deficit to 2-1. The goal sparked a flurry of attacking pressure, as Malmö sought an equalizer in the closing minutes. Ludogorets’ defense, however, stayed compact and disciplined, absorbing pressure and preventing Malmö from creating any clear-cut chances in the final stages of the match.

The 2-1 result gives Ludogorets a strong start in the group stage, highlighting their efficiency on the counter and resilience under pressure. For Malmö, the defeat exposed vulnerabilities in defending set-pieces and handling quick transitions, lessons they will need to apply in upcoming matches. Despite the loss, the late goal and attacking moments suggest Malmö can improve and compete effectively in the remainder of the Europa League campaign.
