Lazio vs Roma

The match at the Stadio Olimpico kicked off under blistering September heat, just over 30 °C, which forced cooling breaks in both halves. That forced Lazio to push even harder and open up, which played into Roma’s hands as they were able to manage the final minutes with more control and composure.

In terms of consequences, the win marked a solid milestone for Roma under Gian Piero Gasperini, giving them nine points from their opening four Serie A matches. It also delivered psychological advantage in Rome. For Lazio, the loss deepened concerns over finishing under pressure and defensive discipline. The derby once again showed how tight margins can define not just one match, but potentially a season.
